Saint Paul’s Service team is comprised of parishioners who seek to serve through action.

As such, the Team attempts to assist those in our church, our community, and beyond. The service given is intended to not only help the recipients, but to build relationships and community.  The question is asked:, “Should the assistance be ongoing or a single, one-time project of help?”

The Service Team also strives to discern whether the service given fosters growth, improvement and independence for the recipients.

We currently assist in sponsoring the Haul & Fix-It Crew, a group of parishioners who assist congregants with one-time household tasks.   In addition, we’ve established a card-writing ministry; cards written to parishioners experiencing various events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, illness, graduation, etc. See the bottom of this page for more information.

We also offer opportunities for the congregation to provide a quarterly meal to SK8Church, a local nonprofit that offers a safe, sober place for youth and young adults to gather, skateboard and hear the gospel.   In the past, the Service Team has initiated the parish service to the United Way Holiday Market Exchange, by providing gifts and/or volunteer time to the holiday market.

Lift-Up is a local nonprofit that offers the community a food bank, thrift store and other assistance.  Each year a donation from the Service Team Outreach fund is made to Lift-Up for its fantastic work.

Finally, we are investigating ways to serve Integrated Community, a local nonprofit which assists immigrants with housing, education, health care, legal issues, etc. Integrated Community is always in need of volunteers to help youngsters and adults learn English, and to assist school children with homework.

The Service Team welcomes new members and ideas for service! We would love to have you join us!
